MARCH-A-THON

Join us on Saturday, August 30th 2008 - The March-A-Thon is a fundraising day for band members where they rehearse for the upcoming competitive season.  This day is is also a work day for parents.  We will be working on props for the show & sewing flags for the colorguard.  

We will be serving lunch for everyone - and we are asking every family to bring a food item.  Those with last names A-M bring a dessert, last names N-Z bring a side (chips, salads, fruit, etc.) 

The March-A-Thon starts at 8:00 a.m.

CAR WASH FUNDRAISER!

On Sunday, August 31st, we will have a car wash fundraiser at CVS on the West Side of Evansville.  This event starts at 9:30 a.m. and continues until 2:00 p.m.  Mark your calendars now for this important fundraising opportunity!

LABOR DAY!

Join us on Monday, September 1st 2008 for a "Give-Back" day at the Pizza Hut on the West Side.  Simply print out the coupon below & bring it with you on Labor Day.  (if you can enlarge the coupon, that would be helpful - the original copy measures 5" x 3")  

Pizza Hut will "give back" 20% of all purchases (with coupons) to the Mater Dei Band.

This offer runs all day long & includes carry-outs, too.  Have some delicious pizza and support the Marching Wildcats at the same time!

From Class D to Class C 

The Mater Dei Band will be competing in Class C for the 2008-2009 marching band season.  In the past, the Marching Wildcats remained in Class D, thus competing against such schools as North Posey, Paoli, Southridge, and Forest Park.  This year Mater Dei will be up against bands like Gibson Southern, Heritage Hills, Princeton, Mt. Vernon, Reitz, Boonville, and Bosse.

ISSMA classifies Indiana marching bands by school enrollment.  They base these classifications on the previous year's enrollment in grades 10, 11 & 12.  The numbers were just slightly higher for this past year, which puts Mater Dei in Class C instead of Class D.  This is a new and exciting change for the band this year!
