MEETINGS

The Band Boosters meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Mater Dei Band Room.  The next meeting is Tuesday, March 9th, 2010. 

We strongly encourage all parents and supporters of the band to attend these very informative meetings and get involved with the band!

Band Booster Minutes

February 16, 2010

The meeting was opened with the Our Father.

No Secretary’s report.

Treasurer’s Report

                -Not much activity this month.

                -More money collected for Strombolis – still more to sell if anyone interested.

Director’s Report

                -The Dance Cats placed first at Jam Fest the weekend of Feb. 14^th and qualified for National Competition.

-The West Side Edition will do a cover story on the Stage Show on Friday, Feb. 26. 

                -There are plenty of fliers for the Stage Show if you have a good place to hang them.

                -The Pre-Camp dates this summer will start the 3^rd week of June and will be June 22^nd, 24^th, 29^th, and July 1^st.

                -Sept. 4^th will be the March-A-Thon and also the Memorial Football game at Enlow Field and the band will be playing at the beginning like Memorial did last year at the Mater Dei home game.

Old Business

Mid-States Patch

                -The design for the patch has been approved by the Mid-States Association.

                -Prices have been quoted with SouthWest Graphix giving the best price.

                -100 hundred patches are being ordered but only enough rockers with the year will be purchased for our students until orders are taken.

                -Order forms will be sent to last fall’s finalists as soon as we know how long it will take for them to come in from SouthWest.

Box Truck

                -Ad will be placed on eBay when the weather improves so it will able to be shown.

Stromboli

                -More available if anyone is interested.

                -Suggestion was made to prepare them for the students on Saturday before the Stage Show performance.

New Business

Band Banquet

                -Date is April 13^th in place of the April meeting.  

-Theme will be the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s to incorporate both the fall marching show and the stageshow.

                -Menu was discussed and will be Hamburgers/Hot Dogs/Potato Chips/Baked Beans/Etc. Also Ice Cream Sundaes

Rummage Sale

                -An email will be sent to Joe Herrman, Molly, and Jeanne Tornatta to check the gym schedule to see when available dates are.

New Officers

                -It was asked that everyone give consideration to being a booster officer next year.  Nominations will be taken at the banquet in April and elections will be in May.

Stage Show Ticket Sellers

                -2 people are needed for each performance to sell tickets, email sent to ask for volunteers.

Other

                -Mr. Smith asked if a shelving unit could be made from one of the soda bars from the fall show for the foyer of the band room for storage.  Will get with Paul Schapker about possible ideas.

                -Pampered Chef orders are due Wed. Feb. 24^th.  And money raised will go to individual student’s band fees for next year.
