MEETINGS

The Band Boosters meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Mater Dei Band Room.  The next meeting is Tuesday, June 8, 2010. 

We strongly encourage all parents and supporters of the band to attend these very informative meetings and get involved with the band!

Opening Prayer – Our Father

Secretary’s Report – none

Treasurer’s Report – The box truck has been sold!!!!!!  Thank you, Linda Gregory, for taking care of that.

Director’s Report –

Staffing

 - Mrs. Goth is cutting back her work to just the Junior High program. 

 - Malora Huggins will be part time assistant director to help Mr. Smith.

 - Justin Carter will be a Student Teacher from UE in the fall.

 - Mr. Smith would like to hire a marching instructor this season because we have so many new students.

 - Marching Show (Working title – Casino)

 - Music – already to the arranger, should have the first number by the end of May.

 - Drill – the drill writer will be in Evansville over July 4^th weekend to meet with the directors to write/design show.

 - Uniforms – the band/pit will wear suits instead of the marching uniforms.  They have been priced at $15 each, we would need about 30.  Some changes will be made to the suits to add color.  Final price is expected to be around $25 each. The auxiliary will wear dresses, the design has not been finalized, and they will be made in house.   Also, we will make all the flags in house.

 - Props – We are purchasing a new tarp that comes in several sections for this year’s show.  It is lightweight and comes with removable weights that can be added on field to keep it in place.  It is in a sun burst pattern and will be painted to look like a roulette wheel.  The price of the tarp is $1200.

Old Equipment

 - Triple Threat guard uniforms – being posted on a national site for guard equipment to be sold.

 - Tarpzilla – will be sold to help pay for new tarp, any ideas/assistance on how are welcome.

Contest Entries

 - Mid-States entries are scheduled and paid.

 - ISSMA entry form is not yet posted.

Rummage Sale

Date/Time – June 5^th 7am-12pm, Bag sale from 11-12, $2 per bag.

Set up will be done the week leading up to:   Tues. June 1^st-Fri. June 4^th from 4-??

Ad will be run in Church bulletins starting weekend of May 22nd/23th.
