HEADS UP FOR FUNDRAISER IN 2009!

Yes, this is a lot of notice . . . but the band boosters are planning on organizing a "Rummage Sale" fundraiser in June, 2009.

Plan ahead . . . keep those "hidden treasures" during the next several months & consider donating those next-to-new or even not-so-new items for our rummage sale.

This is a great way to help the Mater Dei Band and "clean out that clutter" at the same time.

Thanks for your help & support!  See you in June, 2009!!

MEETINGS

The Band Boosters meet on the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Mater Dei Band Room.  The next meeting is Tuesday, September 9th at 6:30 p.m.

We strongly encourage all parents and supporters of the band to attend these very informative meetings and get involved with the band!

Minutes for the

Band Booster Meeting

July 8th 2008

Secretary Report – Not Available

Treasurer Report – See Printed Report.

We received $2500.00 donation for the truck after treasure report was printed.

Band Directors Report

Aug. 9th Dance – 3 Garage Bands willing to participate, but not sure that would be enough to draw a

crowd. We would need security at a rate of $60.00 per hour. Plus what we would need for actual start up.

Alex suggested we put it on hold until school starts. Pursue getting information.

Medical forms will be sent home with band students on Monday, July 14, 2008 and will need to be returned on Wednesday, July 16, 2008.

Leslie does not have band contracts for Amy Deig, Elizabeth Mayer, Michelle Schmitt and Megan Tromley.

Alex was contacted about playing for the I-69 ribbon cutting on Wednesday, July 16, 2008 (About a half hour ceremony) but unless it covers the expense of transportation and some extra for our account we will not be participating.

Old Business

Band Room – Linda thanked everyone who showed up to move out and paint the band room and office carpet has been laid and Thursday, July 10th was set for moving things back in and Saturday,

July 12th to finish moving, cleaning out the trucks and deciding what we need for props.

Truck Fundraiser – The Suggestion was made to use the $2,500.00 donation to purchase the storage boxes for the truck. Boosters agreed.

Band Folders/Fees – Information sheets and band fees need to be turned in ASAP. Natalie and Karen Blankenberger are working on a directory and need the sheets to accomplish this.

August 16 shifts are 3-5, 5-7 and 7-9. We need at least 2 adults and 3 other people per shift. Call Linda Russell if you can help with this fundraiser.

A new refrigerator has been purchased for the booth. The old one barely held the temperature to pass inspection in the morning. It was order from Wayne’s at $600.00 but Whirlpool will reimburse us $300.00.

A new fan for above the fryer is being looked at.

We could use more freezer space for ice, Slices of Heaven, etc. Suggestion or ideas welcomed.

Parking Lot – Chairs are: Sherry Meeks – Paul’s and Janet Cox – Pet Food Center.

Raffle – Linda has acquired a raffle license from the diocese to have a raffle for a Television set. It is only good through the end of the year. She requested someone to help her chair this fundraiser with her. A discussion took place about when to start and when to hold the drawing. Shelley is going to check with a printer to see if they will donate printing the tickets and with Risley’s to see what kind of deal we can get on a television. If possible begin selling tickets by fall festival and finish after the Madrical.
